Documentation & FAQ
How are the "Architectural Sizing" results calculated?
The sizing tool uses span-to-depth ratios derived from EN 1992-1-1 and EN 1993-1-1. For preliminary estimates:
Note: These are for preliminary sizing only and do not account for complex lateral stability or connection stiffness.
- Steel Beams: Sized for a bending moment capacity $M_{c,Rd} \ge M_{Ed}$ and a deflection limit of $L/250$.
- Concrete Slabs: Based on $L/d$ ratios (typically 24-28) to control serviceability without detailed reinforcement design.
Note: These are for preliminary sizing only and do not account for complex lateral stability or connection stiffness.
What Carbon Factors (A1-A3) are used in the BOQ?
Our platform uses industry-standard "Cradle-to-Gate" (A1-A3) values:
- Steel: 1.55 kgCO₂e/kg (Average European Blast Furnace / Electric Arc mix).
- Concrete (C30/37): 0.15 kgCO₂e/kg (Including standard CEM-I mix).
- Timber (Glulam): 0.45 kgCO₂e/kg (Excluding sequestration benefits).
